Tricks To Save Money

Tuesday, 11 August 2009

Nowadays, saving is so much harder than spending it. People tend to spend money as soon as they get hold of it. Well, here are some easy and subtle money-saving tricks you can practice for a more financially-secure future:
  • Whenever you get your salary, whether it's per cut-off or daily or monthly, you just got to budget it. Set priorities...
  • Eat at home or better yet bring, your own "baon". nothing beats the good-all- healthy home-made meals.
  • Avoid convenience stores. They charged significantly higher than the supermarkets, so whenever you go to the groceries, buy as many as possible so that you'll never have to get out of stocks.
  • Water is healthier than those sugary beverages. Some restos charged as high as P150 just for a bottomless iced tea, so whenever you're out to dine opt to order water, some restos offer clean, filtered water for free! You just have to ask if its filtered or not.
  • When shopping, ask yourself if you really need to buy it, if there's any doubt, well don't. If you really want it, the hell with the price, but if there's if, well don't, in the end you'll regret buying it.
  • Make a shopping list. Priorities first. If its not on the list, tell yourself you ain't buying it...you don't want stacking items that aren't useful and will be like a trash inside your room.
  • And most importantly open a savings account where you can deposit all your monthly savings and try to invest in time deposit for it will be financially rewarding, you see.

Swiney No Swining

Saturday, 4 July 2009

I have this super gluttonous office mate whom I thank God got fired recently. One may think that I'm such a bad person for being happy he got fired but this is my side of the story.

He was such an annoying person. well I don't know if he's somewhat crazy coz every time people beside him were talking, he'll butt in without anyone asking for his opinions or comments and he even laughs without any apparent reason. I think he has this sort of an attitude or mannerism that he always wants his mouth talking and making side comments which is really, really annoying. To add to that, his comments are really, really offending and rude and sometimes very degrading. And to top everything, he eats like there's no tomorrow. I feel like he's abusing his privilege of free food at the office. FYI, we get free lunch at the office courtesy of our employer. But that's not a reason for eating like that coz food at the office maybe free but is given equally per department, and unfortunately he's part of our group which most of us often gets "bitin" with our lunch coz he eats most of our share. And he doesn't care even if we tell it to his face. So now please understand that I'm really annoyed with him. I feel much better now that I've got that off my chest.

Magna Cum Ewan

Wednesday, 23 April 2008

my employer hired this girl to be an assistant to our creative head, who, by the way, will be taking a maternity break soon. i asked her if she (the girl, not the preggy one!) knows how to use photoshop (very essential in our work). she said no. i asked her again if she knows any graphic programs and she goes like blah blah blah blah blah. in short, she doesn't know anything related to graphics. but she said that she already worked in a company and she handled the marketing and the promotional side. yeah right. as if we need one. like hello, we dont need an assistant, we need another visual merchandiser because we really are short in this area. as we politely questioned her further, we came to know that she graduated magna cum laude in UP Diliman major in Mass Communications. and i thought, that's the main reason why our employer hired her! because of her scholastics record. another wrong move. hay!

Xmas Displays

Thursday, 15 November 2007

for the past several days, after my trip to china, i've been extremely busy. as in super toxic. i've been preparing christmas displays for two brands, elianto and espada. the job really drains my energy. i plan to take a leave next week, i really really need a break. i have been inhaling lots of poisonous gas (spraypainting all the materials). and the sad part about it is, nobody's there to give a hand. i understand though, because it's peak season here, christmas is very near. everybody's doing something important. i just wish i won't be here for next year's christmas display (i'm planning for a major career change).

Absent

Thursday, 11 October 2007

sorry for my week-long absence. i have been swamped with work (what's new?!) that i only have time to kiss my boys goodnight when i get home everyday. pathetic, right? we've been busy with mall visits and i have been busy with designing as well, since christmas is fast approaching. what keeps me sane is the thought that i'll have that much needed break soon. we're off to palawan! i just hope the weather holds up. pls. pls. pray for a good weather!

Perfect!

Monday, 3 September 2007

sorry no post in a long while! i have been to cebu for store visits. it's part of the job and now im starting to enjoy it, with all these travelling it entails. although, i still feel torn because i really don't wanna be away from my son that long (at least 3 days!).

i have also paid up our hotel accomodations for our palawan get-away this october. this time with my family. yey! we'll be flying to puerto princessa and basically, just taking the same holiday trip which my
sister took during their honeymoon. highly recommended nya kasi so we're trying it out. sayang, our youngest brother was supposed to come with us but since he's studying in mapua, quad sem, he won't be able to come since the only week he's off from school, enrolment time naman!

anyways, my son had his exams, oral and written, last week. and he got perfect scores in both! so so proud of him! his teachers say that he's advance for his age. i just hope he doesn't get bored with school and continues to excel in his studies.
well, that's it for now.

How can one be contented with work

Saturday, 30 June 2007

do you like your work? are you contented with the salary you're getting? could you teach me how to be contented because i really really need to understand why I'm working and still with that company?

i, myself, don't feel contented.. does money matters? or does one have to enjoy what they're doing at the same time?.. is it too much to ask for both?

it's so hard when both are not present... for me it's OK na just to have one of them, but unfortunately, both are not present in my current job..huhuhuhu..so sad but true.. the pay is pathetic because it's not even close to being financially rewarding, and the company im with or the people i work with, some could be really pretentious (and would you believe we're just less than 40 in the office). Always judging every move you make, too many insecurities..grrrr!.
i'm not nagging or anything. i'm just telling my point of view. so if you have advises to give just feel free to link me... hehehe
