While waiting for my mom to finish her salon appointment (yes, we were that patient), me, my son and my youngest brother did a mini pictorial (this was months ago, even before she left for dubai. and she's back by the way haha!). photos were taken after I got sick with LBM. I didn't look that bad..right? And my brother was always the pa-cute one. oh, and my son looked like he needed a bath..hehehe.Labels: family
im sure lots of people's diet will be flushed down the drain this christmas season. who would want to diet when lots of food are served everywhere you go? i wouldnt miss eating for the world!
im sure people think the same thing: i'll resume my diet after christmas.. err the new year. hehe. some people might think, there's allie anyways (a diet pill similar to xenical), to help burn those extra fat.
whatever your slimming plans are, postpone it for a while. join the jolly season. it's the season to be happy AND fat! Labels: money money money
im not sure if i have blogged about it already, but my sister is preganant! well, just about time as she's not getting any younger *lol*.
anyways, she's already on her 4th month. my brother has given her loads of baby stuff which used to be my nephew's. babies grow fast anyway so my sister doesnt mind hand me downs. the baby clothes still look nice and i heard my brother gave her pong's (my nephew) old travel cot. now she only needs to buy crib bedding.
how's that for saving?! Labels: money money money
im not sure if i can say we're lucky in the philippines that we're not feeling the credit crunch as much as compared to most western countries. being in malls most of my working hours, i can say that people are still shopping. meaning, they still have money.
whereas in the uk, where my sister lives, the unemployment rate is shooting over the roofs! more than 1m people are out of jobs. well, probably we're used to people having no jobs here in the philippines so it's not news anymore. but then again, that means, our ofw's are affected as well. and i have read somewhere that if they lose their jobs, they will come home and add to our own jobless stats.
o dear! i hope the financial sector recovers soon. pronto. asap! Labels: money money money
o my god! the eating spree has started already! my nephew, pong, celebrated his 1st bday in max's scout tuazon yesterday. then, next weekend, we're attending yet another bday party (saturday) and a wedding come sunday. then of course, christmas is just around the corner. lots of reunions, christmas parties, my hubby's bday coming up, the new year. good luck to those who are dieting! im sure lots of people are making diet pill comparison yet again! good thing, no matter what i eat, i dont gain weight. don't you just love the holiday season =) Labels: money money money

my brother asked me to make a wedding invitation so that he could file for leave at work in dubai so he can attend the 1st bday party of his only son here in the Philippines. he was resorting to this "lie" because there was no way he'll be allowed to go. they have lots of projects on their plate. he figured since it's something religious, he will be allowed. but he wasnt. he'll be missing my nephew's 1st bday because his boss couldnt find it in his heart to allow my brother to attend one of my nephew's important milestones. crap! he'll be coming home, true but only to fetch his family in the philippines. it's diff to travel with a baby in tow. so he's coming to the philippines on a friday and they're going back home to dubai the very next day. sucks! when my aunt came to spend christmas with us in 2006 (they attended my sister's wedding as well), it was really christmas for everybody. kids and adults alike were treated to whatever they like. most of the teenaagers bought their own cellphones (not just simple ones but the latest models) but this cousin of mine had simple joys. he only asked for one of the rc helicopters he saw at toy kingdom. dont ask what the adults asked for *lol*.
my aunt was feeling so generous that time. afterall, she hasnt gone home to the philippines for over 10 years and she was just glad to see everybody again. dont think that we took advantage of her. she actually forced us to choose and buy stuff.
miss her. serious! Labels: money money money
i dont drink much water. it's too bland for me (duh!) so i drink lots of juice - orange juice, pineapple juice, mango juice, buko juice and now i have discovered cranberry (is it from the same family as the Blackberry plants?) juice, thanks to my mom who brought some from dubai. i know water is still better. i do try to drink at least 3 glasses a day but i cant take anymore. good thing my son is into water more than juices. our youngest brother's wishes came true when his new car was delivered last week. it's the 2008 honda jazz with all the bling blings. lucky him! (yes, im sour graping because ouor dad promised all 5 of us cars and it's just my youngest brother who got his). anyways, we're tteeasing him to put tire chains on his car to prevent it from being carnapped. one of my dad's car was carnapped (and then found again, minus bling blings) in front of our own house!
he's so over the moon. he's our official driver, especially now that my sister in law and nephew are in the country for a visit. he cant really help but show off. hehe Labels: money money money
lots of people are dying from mesothelioma. well, that's what my sister told me. im not aware of it here. probably, since the phils is a 3rd world country and things like this isnt given much notice.
my sister told me that houses in the 50's or earlier are asbestos-laiden. and that causes mesothelioma. most of them anyway. i dont know how true this is (this is just 2nd hand information. do your own research!) but in the uk, they are offering executive checkups for builders who works/worked in such houses to check for asbestos. im sure, we do have it here. but usually, they just classify it as the usual lung cancer. i have been very busy lately (what's new!) and my mom just arrived from dubai, with my sister in law and cutie nephew, pong and i just had to take some time off work to be with them.
anyways, we've been shopping since they arrived. i often do store visits, go to malls (im a visual merchandiser) and the mall is kinda boring to me already. if anything, i would like to stay away, as far away as possible. but this time, i cant. they want to go there, im going too. i miss them and it's relly for their company that im enduring the mall experience again.
most often than not, i shop online now. my sister introduced me to the wonderful life of online shopping. imagine, you dont have to go to crowded malls, you can choose products at your own leisure. and prices are lower than that in malls because you dont pay for the merchant's lease.
anyways, i hope im not too late but there's this contest about shopping confessions. only, it's for US residents only (and canada, i think). but hey, if you're there, why not join. it's very easy. after all, we all have our own little shopping secrets *lol*.

Way back, I wasn't into manicures and pedicures since I don't think I need one and I've got very bad experiences on it. Just recently I've been very fond of nail colors. Maybe it's because our company just bought Elianto, a Malaysian beauty brand which sells make up, skin care, hair care and nail care. And ever since then, whenever I do store visits, well not always but whenever there's a new and nice color, I buy at least one. Right now, I 'm wearing the electric blue, I recently bought during The Block's 3-day sale. It's fun adding colors on your nails, well if you know how to apply one without smudges.Labels: beauty

i passed by my parent's house earlier as i was just in sm san lazaro doing one of my mall rounds. my brother's boasting about his new car so i just went to see what the fuss is all about.
anyways, i had my laptop with me so i did some surfing while raiding our pantry. our youngest, after showing off his new car, played some online games on his pc. then our other brother came and turned on his laptop. our father came home and saw what we were up to. he joked that he'll buy computer desks and will charge us for electricity and internet use. just like in a cafe. yeah, like he would *lol* Labels: money money money
yesterday, i was chatting with my mom and sister. my sister's coming for a holiday in december next year, after 3 years of not coming home. she wants to go to bohol and she mentioned about a deal she found in palakbayan of philippine airlines. but it's too early. the promo's over. we're hoping we'll find a very similar (good) deal next year. it's making me excited because the whole family is going. now i cant wait to get my Swiss Army luggage out ready for next year's trip =) Labels: money money money
