Magna Cum EwanWednesday, 23 April 2008my employer hired this girl to be an assistant to our creative head, who, by the way, will be taking a maternity break soon. i asked her if she (the girl, not the preggy one!) knows how to use photoshop (very essential in our work). she said no. i asked her again if she knows any graphic programs and she goes like blah blah blah blah blah. in short, she doesn't know anything related to graphics. but she said that she already worked in a company and she handled the marketing and the promotional side. yeah right. as if we need one. like hello, we dont need an assistant, we need another visual merchandiser because we really are short in this area. as we politely questioned her further, we came to know that she graduated magna cum laude in UP Diliman major in Mass Communications. and i thought, that's the main reason why our employer hired her! because of her scholastics record. another wrong move. hay! Labels: work Mineral Make Upi don't usually wear make up. they say it's always better to look fresh than to look like a hooker *lol*. im not saying people who wear make up are hookers, no. but some of them, they wear too much make up, it doesn't look nice anymore. instead of looking better, they look... nevermind! anyways, i have sensitive skin. i can't just use any make ups. otherwise, my face breaks out. not a pretty sight! i can only wear mineral makeup, to keep my skin 'decent'. with a busy lifestyle, how else can i put make up on, on top of getting my son ready for school and my hubby, for work? Labels: money money money Enjoying The Suni know it's hot and humid and lots of people are complaining. it's a fact. we can't do anything about it. we live in a tropical country. instead of complaining, we might as well take advantage of the sun. my sister used to complain. but having lived in england for almost 5 years now, with its very unpredictable weather, she's wishing she's back here in pinas, frequenting the beach. i told her it's almost summer there, she should take the patio furniture out and enjoy it while it lasts. too bad, it usually just lasts a few minutes *lol*. Labels: money money money LU-LIlulubog-lilitaw (now you see, now you dont). that's me. im not even going to explain anymore as i would already sound like a broken record player. this is my life and will be for the next months since my mom is leaving again (for the US) and i will have my hands full again. but im coping. i just hope you pardon my absence and my weekly updates (you can't even call it that!). my sister has posted some pictures of my son's graduation, which i sent her. yup, the graduation was held at the sm food court. saya saya! i will try to post pictures of our recent trip to quezon. actually, it's not recent anymore because we went there last holy week. see how delayed i am in everything!?! Labels: adam Unsanitarya friend is based in india. she's there because she married an indian she met while she was in france (how unusual!). anyways, she's pregnant now but she came home to have her baby in the philippines. she said she's witnessed how some hospitals there are unsanitary, some even share exam gloves. she did not want to risk it, so she came home. i told her, we do have hospitals here that doesn't necessarily score high on sanitation. you'll get that in some low-budgeted, public hospitals. i know it's bad, and sad, but sometimes, there's just no choice. but good on her. she's got a choice and she chose being safe than sorry. Labels: money money money Faucetmy little boy is now into 'engineer' play. ever since my dad brought him along to one of his construction sites, he seems to talk more about it. he forgot about his justice league fascination for the meantime, so it's a big thing! good. he's moving on to other interesting things =) dad told me that adam liked the sailboat kitchen faucets that he saw in that build. the owner is a seafarer and obviously, their house's theme is 'out on sea'. cool! Labels: money money money Musclemanmy cousin in the states, who is just turning 16, has been lifting weights since he was 14! we told him it's not that nice for someone as young as him to have muscle-y body. it's too soon! he should still have baby fats! hahaha! anyways, i think he was influenced by my brother and our uncle, who are both into body building. i don't blame them. being based in the middle east, that's their only means of entertaining themselves. which reminds me, my brother asked me to buy him bodybuilding supplements as he's running low on stock! Labels: money money money FriendsSunday, 13 April 2008What would you do if every time you wanted to be with someone they would never be there? What would you do if for every moment you were truly happy there would be 10 moments of sadness? What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt? these are some of the questions i've been asking myself these past few days. i missed the chance to meet up with my college friends (been busy with work and my son got sick). and sadly one of them will fly back to italy. i've been wanting to meet up with them especially with mary ann since it has been 4 fours (i think) since the last time we met. too bad i'd missed my chance. ok. im jsut being overly dramatic! Labels: friends Getting Fityesterday, after having lunch at the mall of asia, we went to buy bathing suits for me and my sister. i was teasing my mom of her bulges, that she won't really look god in any of the swimsuits there. don't worry, we're always like that, teasing each other. i told her to use the fitness equipment they have at home, if she doesn't really want to join a health club as her jogging and badminton regiments are not really helping her to lose weight. why not? after their 'exercise', she and her friends will eat like they have to regain all the pounds they lost! hahaha! Labels: money money money Cruisei remember my sister, when she was still working in ust, her boss asked her if she could find him a nice deal for either a caribbean or mediterranean cruises. i can remember her surfing the internet and i would just look with her and be awed with the big cruise ships and the places they stop by. i hope someday we can do that as well. me and my husband need to earn loads, work our asses off to be able to afford such an expensive treat! i think i'll dream for now =) Labels: money money money Adam's 4th Bdaymy son's 4th bday just passed by (april 9). we did not have a 'proper' party, not the whole works anyway (mommy, where are my birthday invitations? - adam. bless!). but he still had a good time. we didnt have a big party this year, unlike his 1st and 3rd, because i dont want him to always expect a birthday party. but we gave him a small one, nonetheless. we set up the gazebo at home, filled it with lots of balloons and a long table full of foods, with all the kids wearing a party hat (with raymond's family as usual). as he came out of the door, the emotions on his face was super mixed. he got shy and closed the door but eventually came out with a smile on his face. he was happy with all the gifts he got from us (i bought him a spiderman mighty muggs action figure and his dad bought him a spiderman squirting gloves and mask). im pretty sure we were able to give him a party he'll never forget. my family wasn't able to come but we celebrated yesterday. we went to their place and we went to mall of asia, where my dad treated us to a sumptuous lunch and dinner. adam chose his gifts and went grocery shopping. im sure he enjoyed that! such a spoiled brat! we plan to have a party every other year. let's see if that will push through =D Labels: adam, money money money The GraduateSunday, 6 April 2008last march 28 my son graduated from nursery. he represented his class to recite a poem (little boy blue). i was so nervous he might forget his lines but luckily, he said it right, loud and clear. proud parent i was! he was awarded as the most active student in his class, i dont know if it's a good thing or not *lol*. his class is only composed of 8 pupils so everybody was given an award. happy that he finished the school year with flying colors. when my mom and sister asked him to recite the poem, he changed it to little boy green. because it's his favorite color! we couldn't stop laughing! Labels: adam Chimesthe theme of my sister's wedding in december 2008 was zen. ever since she started planning her wedding, she wanted to have wind chimes as souvenirs. very fitting as it calms or relaxes you with its soothing tunes as the chimes sway with the light breeze. very zen, ayt? she bought small ones for the guests and big ones for the principal sponsors. i think they liked it. Labels: money money money Memoryhubby just texted me with the status of my laptop (he's currently in the pc shop sorting it out, while i wait in this cosy little cafe =D). he said, he was told we have to increase our laptop memory as a solution to the pc hanging all the time! because of the programs i have installed, the system couldn't cope anymore. i told him to just do whatever they can so i can go back to my normal life! Labels: money money money Crash Dietmy mom's leaving for US in may. with just a month to go, she's very very determined to lose weight. she will be attending a wedding, along with my aunt and grandma. goodluck to her! with the rate she's been eating, i doubt she'll shift even a single pound! we're trying to be supportive of her, we're even joining her in eating less. but to achieve the weight she's eyeing, she could starve herself and that would only reduce her weight by a few pounds *lol* Labels: money money money Why O Why?another reason for not updating? my laptop is in 'hospital'. someone sat on it, or probably someone put a heavy thing on it. the screen is somewhat affected. who kaya? grrrr!!!
