the other day, a friend asked me a super hard question. and i can't answer her with much enthusiasm. the question was: what if one day, someone will come into your life and you realize that he's the one for you. someone who's so perfect, so wonderful, your soulmate. but then you realize you can't be together, because you're already committed with another guy. and the sad part about this is you're not happy with the one you're committed to. what should you do? sacrifice your feelings with your dream guy so you could salvage your relationship with the other guy or go with what you're feeling to fulfill your happiness? i don't know. i don't wanna be in that situation.

Let The Sun In



we did not go out last weeked. i was able to wake up late (a first in a long time!), my husband took care of the little boy (entertained him so i can have my much needed rest). when i woke up, i thought it was pretty late in the afternoon. really, it was just 11am. our bedroom was so dark with the Blinds shut. i told hubby we need to replace them with a more contemporary style. i like this silk roman shade from selectblinds.com. this exact color! we are planning to repaint our bedroom anyway and this will just go well with the oriental theme that i want!

Preggy



i have an officemate who's pregnant. she's having a hard time with her pregnancy. she's experiencing pain on her body parts and at 5 months, she's already losing water which is a sign of labor (not a good sign as it might be a sign of miscarriage). the doctor said that it is due to stress. i really really feel for her. imagine marrying a guy who's so immature (they always argue even about the small stuff) and the pressures at the office, i think, are getting to her. it might also be because she's already in her 30's. some says that pregnancy at the age of 30 and up is much harder and difficult, compared to getting pregnant at a young age (in the 20's). i hope she feels better and her husband, to grow up soon! for the sake of the baby.

Methane Gas Detection



methane is a natural gas which is usually used for central heating, cooking, water heating and it's usually odorless. some would say it smells of rotten egg but for people with reduced nasal sensitivity, they might miss it if there's a leak. we don't want to risk our family. methane is highly flammable. here in the philippines, gas detectors, fire sensors are unheard of. it would be best if the government will just make it a mandatory requirement for homes to have methane gas detection installed. i know it's not feasible and almost impossible to do. but just think of the number of lives that will be saved by this.

Being Practical



since being a mom, i have always tried to look for good bargains, better value for money. im not just looking after myself, can't buy everything i want just because i want it. i had to learn how to prioritise our budget so we can provide better for our kid. i am not into designer bags, shoes, clothes. whatever fits the budget, works for me. my hubby is just too happy that i usual go for the best buy, rather than expensive counterpart.

all for the little boy! every little helps =)

Rest In Peace



our mama (my mom's aunt) died of cirrhosis, as a complication of her diabetes. i was young then but i can still remember a bit of her. she's separated from her husband, no children of her own, and spent her life caring for her grandkids. my mom was telling us that she's a very independent woman. she planned ahead. when she died, her family did not have any problems at all with her burial. she has taken out a funeral insurance, as she did not want her family to suffer more. even in her death, she was thinking of her loved ones. i wish i have known her more.

i know im about a week late! but i've been uber busy, my social life sucks.
anyways, last valentine's, while everybody was going out with their partners, mine was just like any ordinary day. i didn't feel like going anywhere so me and my hubby decided to just take out food and eat at home. i felt like everybody's doing the dating stuff and found it too "baduy" (no offense meant, it's just me). people should be expressing their love everyday of the year and not make special arrangements just because it's valentine's!

im fond of reading nice things about friendship, love and especially about life. makes me realize that things are made with a purpose and meaning. so i want to share what i've recently read (now im missing my family and friends!)...

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT. DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE IN THE FACE. THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE. THEY KEPT ON WALKING, UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM. AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING, HE WROTE ON A STONE: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE ". THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, "AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW, YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?" THE FRIEND REPLIED "WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US, WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT. "LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE. THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON, AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM, A DAY TO LOVE THEM, BUT AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM.

Wine Racks



last christmas, we bought crates of wines to give as gifts to our friends. we have 3 more crates left and they are an eye sore! im planning to buy wine racks or just have them made just so i could dispose of those ugly looking crates. hubby's undecided yet as he said we won't be consuming those and when we've given out most of them, we won't need the racks anymore. good point.

Beer Pong



have you heard of this game before? i haven't! until me and hubby were invited to his friend's bday party. there were 2 teams with about 10-15 beer cups on each side. each player will try to shoot a pingpong ball into one of the cups and the other team will drink that cup of beer. i think the objective of this game is to have the most number of beer cups still full at the end of the game. the losing team will drink all the remaining beer. for real! and they have beer pong tables to play it on. seriously! we had fun watching the guys play. my hubby didn't join though as he would still drive us home.

Bathroom Fixtures



i have a friend in high school who is an interior designer by profession. my sister is planning to have her bathroom renovated and at the same time, asking for suggestions on how to decorate the other rooms in her house. obviously, not my forte so i'll be referring her to my friend. one thing i want to suggest, the Danze faucets. im pretty sure my sister will like it. i saw the faucet they bought for their kitchen and these ones will go well with those, for continuity's sake.

denz gave me this award. im so touched! i know i haven't been updating this blog lately, and yet, you guys still come and visit me. im so grateful. it's just hard when you're working full time, have a family to take care of and everything just don't go as planned. i just wish february will pass by really quickly and hope that march will be so much better!

my sister sent me some pictures of her house. she's desperate to change her carpets. they're all in need of some serious tlc and she's having a hard time deciding whether to ditch it all together or replace it with a more contemporary taste. everything boils down to: who, what, when and how much. i told her she can try directbuy. they offer the same price they give to retailers and that will come down to around 43% discount!

at least the 'how much' has been sorted! all they have to do is to find someone who'll do it and figure out when they want to do it.

it's been chaos at work. we have been without the network for a week now. that's why i haven't blogged for a while. not that i can blog at work (we dont have internet connection!) we are all at the end of our tethers, doing extra jobs.

if you remember, i have blogged that we have updated our network here at the office. the I.T guy was even lecturing us about computer systems, Cat 5 cable, routers, modems because we're all clueless about them. well, it turned out he's all talk and his work is unreliable. he's cute though *lol*. we need to wait a few more days before we get our system up and running again. it looks like we're still not getting internet connection. demmit!

i can't believe it's been a week since i last blogged! work has been very demanding the past week, trying to get ready for valentine's day. we had to design the layouts and decors for the shops, not to mention the actual merchandise. i've been so busy i didn't even notice january flying by! hopefully, i'll be back in regular programing soon! catch you guys later =)

at the moment, the company i work with doesn't have an online shop. i think that's the next way forward as most shops i know have this. it will definitely help with the man power (or the lack of) and it will broaden the company's reach. i'll be suggesting this in our next staff meeting, do surveys and feasibility studies and probably in a few month's time, we'll be in cyberspace as well! that would hopefully mean less mall 'tours' for me! =)
