Who Wore It BestMonday, 28 January 2008Life Insurancethere's this couple who wants to commission the building of their house to my dad. unfortunately, they have some problem with their life insurance that the build got delayed. apparently, it is a requirement for mortgage applications to have a life insurance. they already have gathered life insurance quotes and will be applying for one shortly. then they'll be able to proceed. Labels: money money money Land Assessmentseverything has to be done accordingly. even building sites need to be assessed before going ahead with the construction. in the states, they usually start with Phase I environmental site assessment which entails checks on the history of the property, including documentations. this is to make sure that there are no immediate concern on the safety of the property and that the build could go ahead without hassle. Labels: money money money Corvettemy cousin was given a red hot corvette by his then fiance as engagement gift. that was 5 years ago. the car has been sidelined for 2 years now, since they've driven it to their california home and flew back (instead) to new york. they have recently retrieved it and would like to bring it back to its old glory. im sure www.corvetteguys.com will be able to provide them with all their needs! Labels: money money money Investmentmy dad has been lecturing us over the years to invest in lands. they say, we'll get more for our money instead of buying bags, shoes and clothes! we would tease him back that it's his responsibility to get land investment and divide it among his children! well, he's right. the value of the property increases as there's progress in its development. i still can't afford to buy properties but that is something we would be doing when we earn more. Labels: money money money Proud Mommyadam is really excelling in his school work. he got perfect scores (again!) for his exams this quarter. the funny thing is, when we're reviewing for his tests, he would say, i know that already! yabang! Labels: adam Insurancehubby's car insurance is expiring this month. his uncle pays for this, as well as all his car expenses (hubby's dad died years ago and his uncle took over the responsibilities) but he really wants to try if he can afford it himself. he's been looking for an affordable auto insurance quote and so far, nothing comes within his budget. so im guessing, his uncle will end up paying for the insurance again this year! talk about being spoiled! Labels: money money money Network Cablesin the office, none of us are really into computers. the boys in our department are more into 'gaming' than the actual computer know-how. my boss recently upgraded all our computer system, including the network (hopefully we can now use the internet!) and this IT guy was chatting us up, talking about wi-fi, modems, routers and Cat6 cables. we were all like, what are you talking about!? it was funny, the look on our faces. we have really no clue as to what he's on about. Labels: money money money Elegant Houseour house is owned by my in-laws. this is a really nice house and if you remember the tv series, darna (angel locsin), this house was used as valentina's house in the series. someday, i want to be able to afford our own, something, we could proudly say, came from our hardwork. since dreaming is free, i would also like one of those luxury homes along sunset blvd. and rub elbows with the stars! Labels: money money money Weight Lossfortunately, weight has never been my problem. although, compared to others, i would like to gain more weight. people have been resorting to different solutions to get rid of that extra fat. some takes pills, tries diff diet regimes and others, as drastic as liposuction. i found another alternative to weight loss. it's hoodia, a plant extract that suppresses appetite. most people would blame their weight gain on 'cravings' for certain food. now they don't have an excuse! Labels: money money money those were the daysSunday, 27 January 2008just when i thought she'd forgotten about me...got an email from my friend, Mary Ann or should i say Marianna (she's in Italy now with her husband). she sent me pictures of our college days, she's the one in orange (during fashion a show in UST) and i suddenly missed the feeling of going to school with her (she wasn't able to finish college as she had to go to Italy with her then boyfriend, massi). back then i remember her as sobrang kikay (just like me...ever wonder why we got along so well?!). we had so much fun and college days were so different without her. miss you girl, hope you'll be coming back here soon! ![]() Labels: friends Home InsuranceThursday, 24 January 2008there have been lots of fires across the metro as we welcomed the new year. it's scary and depressing, specially for those people who actually lost their homes in the fire. that's the reason why people need to insure their homes. i know here in the philippines, insurance is unheard of or usually thought of as a waste of money. but abroad, they are necessities. there are different home insurance being offered, online, through the door. one of them is American Home Shield. you can choose which ever offers the best policy for the best price. a few bucks won't hurt if it will ensure you can have your home back after tragedy strikes. Labels: money money money Trugreennone of us has my mom's green thumb. she likes flowers and plants that's why she always enjoy going to the province to look after her lot. but me and my siblings? we've got better things to do! *lol*. when my mom went to UK, she sorted out my sister's garden. but i think when she left, the plants just pffft! i dont think my sister at least tried looking after her plants =) i think it takes special people to build up gardens or at least, take good care of them. plants are like children, they have to be nurtured to grow beautiful. if you need people to look after your lush, why not try Tru Green. or if you've got that 'power', why not get a job there? you'llbe sure you're in good hands (literally!) Labels: money money money Termitesour ancestral home in quezon has recently been demolished. i really feel sad because that's where we spend our summer breaks when we were younger and where us, cousins, would meet regularly for special occasions. it's just sad that after our grandparents died, nobody really looked after it. the reason for the demolition is that it has been infested by termites. that house is made of solid wood. fine narra wood, to be exact. but because it hasn't been looked after, the termites feasted away! it has become a threat for public safety. so my dad's family decided, it would be best to just bring the house down. if only they were able to identify the problem early, if someone actually lived there, probably it wouldn't have come to this end. they could have used Terminix to kill all those pests. o well... life goes on... Labels: money money money Boringit's another boring week. i haven't done anything aside from mall hopping. it would have been good if i were shopping but i was just looking at the design and layouts of our stores/branches. i haven't had time to leave messages but i bloghop, my friends. i wish next week will be more exciting... Labels: dailies CherWednesday, 23 January 2008Do you believe in life after love. I can feel something inside me say I really don't think you're strong enough, No... i just heard this song this morning and it's now playing on repeat mode in my head. cher is before my time but her music can still catch everybody's attention. and have you seen her? she looks like she hasn't aged a bit! her daughter even looks older than her. seriously! most of us (my generation) would remember her for her song believe, but she's done a lot of hit songs, like i got you babe (i like this, actually), the long and winding road, after all (with peter cetera) and dark lady. looking at her music-ology, her last album came out in 2002 - 6 years ago! quite a long time. anyways, she'll be replacing celine dion at the caesar's palace so those cher fans out there, you can now buy Cher tickets Las Vegas for her shows. her voice is really different, which is probably why she's got a good following. despite her age, she can still perform well! can even chalenge britney spears on stage. i really wish i'll get the chance to watch her perform. someday, who knows, a concert in manila? i know a lot of cher fans who'll kill just to get tickets for her show. Labels: money money money Blah Blah Blahmy little boy's getting bigger and smarter. he talks so much. he's like an older guy trapped in a child's body. even if me and my husband were already sleepy, adam is still wide awake and he keeps on talking and humming to himself. then there was this one time when me and my mom were talking, we heard him say to us, "blah, blah, blah, ayoko ng makipagusap!" we were surprised, and couldn't stop laughing! Labels: adam Web Hostingi really have no clue about blogging when i first started. it was just my sister who 'forced' me to do this but im now truly grateful to her for getting me into this. they have set up everything, my domain name and the web hosting choice. and now, im reaping the fruits of THEIR labor! i love them =)
Labels: money money money Fashion FOrecastMonday, 21 January 2008![]() ![]() since i'm in the fashion industry (apparel/garments that is), i would like to share some of the upcoming trends for spring/summer 2008. Summer 2008 is in living colors. bright with a hint of pale hues with bold patterns are definitely in. the trend may seem a bit too loud but its really not that overwhelming. in fact its femininely whimsical and sophisticated playfulness. as for the cut, long dresses define the new glamour, waisted-high pants paired with very flowy big tops is the new version of chic boho. in short the glamour of 70's is back! Labels: fashion Heart Attacki have already witnessed somebody having a Heart Attack. it was scary! i want to help, but i don't know how. fortunately, we're not related. he's just someone i happen to pass by in one of my mall visits. it took a while for paramedics to get to him, as no one in the vicinity knows how to deal with such case. if only the government sets aside some money for training, im sure more people will be saved from heart failure. Labels: money money money She's Offmy mom flew out to dubai today. it was funny because she and my brother couldn't get the date right. my mom thought it was the 16th and my brother was telling her over and over the wrong date! it was my sister in law who booked the flight so my brother wasn't really sure. but yeah, she left today and will be gone for about 2 months. we ate out last night as despedida. we will surely miss her! and when she comes back, she'll be staying for another 2 months before flying off again! o well, im just thinking of all the pasalubongs i'll get =) Labels: mom Game Couponsmy brother in dubai gave our youngest brother a psp last year. he's only got 2 games to play with as he finds them too expensive to buy. he doesn't want to ask money from our parents as he knows it's not a necessity. i found some Gamefly coupons the other day and im planning to buy him the games that he wants. that could be his birthday and christmas gifts already. Labels: money money money MessyWe went to a friend's house this weekend to help them out with some of their house works (they are currently renovating the place). as a goodwill gesture, our group decided to help them out. the place was a mess! with all the tools scattered about, paint splattered on the floor, it was really a big job! unfortunately, we only hvae time to help them for a day. im planning to buy her some tool storage and help reduce the mess. i really hate renovations. that should be left to the experts! Labels: money money money Quotable QuotesThursday, 17 January 2008my mother in law was ranting about something. adam said, lola init ulo mo (are you hotheaded, grandma)? lagay natin sa ref para lumamig (let's put it in the fridge, to cool down). nyek! corny ng anak ko. i don't know where he gets his 'words of wisdom'. North Carolinamy mom was telling me about her trip to the US, how much it's like here in the philippines. she said when they went to my cousin's anniversary celebration, they talked about where they want to want to retire. obviously, people want to 'slow down', live in a more relaxed environment. one mentioned about moving to north carolina. im sure, once she finds a North Carolina land for sale, she'll grab it and have her dream retirement secured =). Labels: money money money Can I Come?adam has been curious lately of what we do when we go to work. he asks questions like, where do you go exactly, what do you do, do you 'play' on your computers... he said one day, he wants to come. he thinks that it's all play play play and fun fun fun. we told him, it's what grown ups do so we can buy him his toys. he said, but you'll just type type type like lolo (hubby's uncle - probably saw him in his home office). so now, he has this idea that work is just sitting pretty, working at an executive desk, telling people what to do. i know that's fun (if you're the boss) but if you're doing the bidding, that sucks! but let him enjoy childhood first and not let him worry of what will be when he grows up. Labels: adam, money money money HairstyleMonday, 14 January 2008as promised, i was able to get a picture of my brother sporting that weird hairstyle. sorry about the quality of his pic, i just snatched it from his friendster account. do you see the resemblance with their hair? im pretty sure my bother styled my son's. they've only got 14 years between them so i won't be surprised if they end up partners in crime =)
Exhibitmy high school friend, who's an interior decorator, invited us to their company's trade show displays, showcasing their design ideas for 2008. it was awesome, i enjoyed the vibrant colors, the schemes and the contemporary feel they envibed. they chose to decorate small rooms, using really affordable materials so people will feel that it's doable. we tend to be intimidated by the price. well, now, there's a cheaper option! Labels: money money money Invitesmy aunt, after seeing the invites i made for my nephew's baptism, asked me if i can make my counsin's first communion invitations. my first reaction was, social! i didnt know that people now splurges on stuff like this. in my days, it's just a simple celebration. we just had a family meal out and that's it. but now, they booked a restaurant thus the need for invites. engrande! Labels: money money money Truck Rackdad has his own little construction company. he has a few trucks and vans which he uses for the delivery of construction materials. he also uses them to transport his workers and equipments between sites. we're thinking of giving him a truck rack for his birthday in march. at least, it will be something he could use for work, for a change =) Labels: money money money Clone!my husband got an offer from one of his agents. it was a policeman selling nokia's latest model, the n95. he was selling it at a very affordable price of just PHP6,500.00. the price is very low because the units were smuggled goods (that's what he said). in the market, it's selling for PHP20 - 25,000.00. anyways, i've offered it to my officemates. after a few tests, we've realized that its specifications are very far from the real n95. its camera is just 2 megapixels (the real one has 5 megapixels), the graphics and icons were different, the buttons on the side were just for decorative purposes, and the only thing that's special about it, it's a touch-screen with stylus (the real one doesn't have one). it's like a sony ericsson in an n95 casing - just a clone! unfortunately, in the black market it's only PHP5,000.00, so that means that the policeman was made us LOKO! i told my husband to return it, but he already made the payments, good thing he was able to sell one of the two units to one of his offemates. he sold it for PHP8,000.00 but for four (4) gives. Labels: cellphones Small Business Loanseverybody wants to have their own business, be their own boss. i want to, if only i have the capital. EZUnsecured.com has the solution to that problem! they offer Small Business Loans for people who have money issues. they process everything quickly, you get the funds right away! this is your first step to having that business you've always dreamt about. Labels: money money money Apocalypto last night, i browsed the dvd's my officemate lent me. i was into scary movies last night. originally i was planning to watch "the butterfly's effect" starring ashton kutcher in it. unfortunately it didn't play, the dvd player wasn't able to read it. so i played APOCALYPTO by mel gibson. the movie was really breathtaking, although, there were mind-disturbing scenes like the beheading of the captives and taking their hearts out of their chests. but the story was really really good. mel gibson really did give justice to the primitive way of living. you should watch it.Labels: movies Prescription Glassesmy sister's been complaining about how expensive it is to have eyes checked in england. normally, she would ask my tita, who's an optometrist to measure her sight and arrange for new glasses or contacts. but because they're not coming home anytime soon, she's in desperate need to find one that's more affordable. last time she had a test done, it was 2006 and her vision has worsened since. they'll be going to the US and i think she'll have her sight sorted there with her Great Discovery: $ 8 Zenni Optical Rx Eyeglassess. me and my brother in dubai are the only ones in the family not wearing glasses yet!

look at him! he looks binata already (as compared here)! im sure it's my youngest brother who styled his hair. i'll explain why with a picture as soon as i get one of him. he looks very different here, unlike his usual totoy look. he's so cute! im sure he'll be a heart breaker someday. *lol* Labels: adam DVD Unlockerwhen my sister, who's based in the UK, first came back home to the philippines in 2005, she brought home a dvd player she got free from her mobile company. since she doesn't need it, she just gave it to my mom. unfortunately, because of the 'regioning' of dvd's, we can't play dvd's from the philippines (region 3) with the player which is a region 2. had we known then, that it can be unlocked, we wouldn't have shipped it to the province, where it eventually, passed away *lol* (because of non-use). at http://www.dvdunlocker.com/, DVD region is non-existent! with this, you can play dvd's from different regions without having to open up your player or pc or paying to have them 'cracked'. well, now we know, my sister and brothers (middle east), can now bring any players or dvds and we'll all be able to enjoy them! Labels: money money money Cheap Furnituresstarting a new home is very difficult. aside from all the money going into purchasing the house, well at least for the deposit (unless you're uber rich and can pay for the house in cash!), im sure there's no more money left to buy home furnishings. but there's no hurry in filling up the house. as long as there's a comfy sleeping area, workable kitchen - the basics, you'll survive until you have the means to complete your dream home. for some, they look for discount furniture. why work yourself to death to raise the money buying expensive furnishings when you can buy something that looks as nice but isn't as expensive. that is wise spending! Labels: money money money Home Theatrethe in-laws want to redecorate the 'old' entertainment room here at home. they want to turn it into a home theatre instead because we've already got a separate games room. that room has a big tv already and comfy chairs but they want to upgrade everything, though, personally, i think the 'old' ones are still ok. it's hardly used, anyway so why bother? but since they insist and they will be shouldering the costs, who am i to object? *lol* being the good in-law that i am, i did suggest discount home theater seating. the money they will save from this project, they could just give to my son =D. i hope they redecorate the gym next! =) Labels: money money money GoofingTuesday, 8 January 2008

Labels: money money money Mom's Off (Again!)my mom's leaving for dubai on the 14th (tentative date). she's been recruited by my brother to look after their baby boy as my sister in law's going back to work. her mom just came back from her one month stay with them. she still has a job and will need to resign first before going back. kawawang mga lola, ginawang yaya! anyways, my mom will be gone for at least a month and when she comes back, she'll be preparing naman for her trip to the US. jetsetter ang nanay ko! sayang lang, ako naman mawawalan ng yaya on weekends. d bale, the only consolation naman is the countless pasalubong pag uwi nya! Labels: meme Curtains To Blindsi was able to convert my cousin into changing their curtains to venetian blinds. for one, they don't have a maid and does all the laundry at home. they've got around 8 windows at home and her curtain fabrics are surely the heavy type. though she uses the washing machine, surely, it takes her ages to wash all of them. so i suggested using blinds instead. it's very easy to clean and she can choose whatever color she wants. they're quite contemporary. i would like to change some blinds at home as well, the one in the lounge into vertical blinds. good thing there are lots of choices at selectblinds.com, which provides window coverings for Extreme Makeover : Home Edition.

Labels: adam Back UpFriday, 4 January 2008recently, hubby's uncle's pc crashed and they panicked! imagine 2 years worth of data lost. he's a director in a bank and sometimes, he brings home work. they have brought in a technician trying to salvage whatever they can. i myself don't back up files, though i know how necessary it is. computers are marvellous when they work and that's not all the time! but i'll try to, now. especially now that there's online storage available. it's very easy to use with easy access as well. it's just like using your own pc directory at home. no need to be a techie and your files will all be safe from the inefficiencies of pcs. as soon as the clouds clear, i will tell hubby to suggest to his uncle about backing up his files online. at least, he could access it at home or at work. ![]() Labels: money money money Surveyim bored and i can't think of anything to post so i snagged this survey from one of the bulletins in friendster *lol* 1. Labels: money money money Donate A Carhere is something new: car donation. we used to read of campaigns where organizations ask us to donate food, clothing, goods, money but never anything substantial as this. just imagine the amount you'll be able to give to charity by donating your old unwanted used cars? instead of selling them, save yourself the hassle of advertising them and waiting endlessly for someone to take interest. the good thing about this is, aside from the money you will raise, you will get an IRS tax deduction. see the video here to learn more. Labels: money money money Happy New Yearsorry if i wasn't able to blog hop to greet everyone a joyous new year. been very busy at home, hubby celebrated his birthday, together with his uncle on the 29th and as always, it was a blast. food was flowing, the band played well. too bad only my aunt and my family was able to attend on my side. anyways, it's back to work mode already, which im not too happy about. i wish i could just stay home, be with my boys, surf the net, blog, chat with my family..... but that's not the real world. the reality is: i've got to work so we could afford our adam's luho =). hope everybody had a fab new year's eve celebration, all appendages intact!
