my mom has been raving about my sister's recliner sofa. she's going on about how comfortable it is to sit on, how she felt more relaxed while watching the tv. i guess she's raving about it so my dad will buy one. but they are expensive here in the philippines! im guessing my dad will not be persuaded *lol*. as they say, don't let the bed bugs bite. but how would you know if there are bed bugs? you can find here the signs of bedbugs.
when i was in college, we went on a mission in one of the provinces in quezon. we gave away relief goods to those affected by the flood. we stayed in the house of one of the barangay councilors. unfortunately, we did not sleep well as we were itching and being bitten by bed bugs. we couldn't complain as we were just kindly accomodated in their humble abode. but for their own sake, they should realize that they have the bugs. we were embarassed to tell them so we did not mention it, not wanting to sound ungrateful.
anyways, it's been 4 years since the mission. hopefully, they have sorted it out.

the other night, i was using my laptop to make my nephew's baptismal invitation. my son kept on bugging me as he also wants to use the computer. i told him to stop or i will spank him coz i really really need to finish the invitation (my brother's making kulit na). anyways, as always, he called up his lolo and lola ganda to make sumbong. he kept on saying that he wants a laptop just like mine. i realized that i haven't got him any presents yet for Christmas so i got him his own toy laptop. now he bugs me no more =) Labels: adam
hubby's aunt in new york is trying to look for a boarding school for her kid. he's been giving his parents and his school a hard time. he doesn't want to go to school anymore and no matter what they say, he just won't go back. he's been bullying other kids as well and he just seems to changed over night.
hubby would tell me he was a sweet kid until he got into the wrong crowd at school. now his aunt wants her kid to be transferred school, away from his bad influence-friends, and try to save the "old" him. she's looking at getting him into Ivy Ridge Academy, where they will be able to nip it at the bud.
hopefully, it's not too late yet. he's got lots of potentials. and it's sad that those he calls 'friends' could pull him down.

hubby's cousin just recently got engaged. they are set to marry end of next year. she's on the chubby side, although most of us tell her that her body size is just right for her height. she wants to look stunning on her wedding day, meaning she wants to lose weight. at the moment, she's trying various diet pills and constantly going to the gym. we often remind her not to overdo it but i guess all brides want to be slim and sexy on their day. Labels: money money money
sweetie denz tagged me on this. what's on my wishlist?
1. good health for my family (that includes the whole clan!). i also wish they would be safe wherever they are, whatever they're doing. 2. to have more time for my boys. 3. work less but earn more =) 4. bountiful new year for everybody, and forever more. 5. be a good child of god. i have been neglecting my 'obligations' (i.e. going to mass) 6. travel, go on holiday (at least one major) every year. 7. see my siblings often 8. to gain more skills, learn more 9. be more passionate with my work. 10. world peace!Labels: meme

my mom is chubby. that's what she wants us to describe her, not fat *lol*. fortunately for me and my sister, we got our father's 'slim figure'. ok, back to mom. she would often say that she'll go on diet, won't eat this or that, will exercise but they are only empty promises. she goes jogging with friends, play badminton but she eats a lot! we're wondering what sort of program would be best for her.
there are a lot of weight loss programs but not all of them can be successful. at magnetic-diet.com, they will help you understand the body, how it works and the best way to keep it fit.
hopefully, it will work for my mom.

yesterday, we went to mall of asia as my dad bought us our christmas presents (plural!). we also brought my dad's gift to adam last year (green car) to the shop as adam has already messed with it, as my mom puts it, siniraniko na ni adam =D. fortunately it's still under warranty. aside from our christmas shopping, dad also paid for our groceries *lol* (well, it's nothing new naman, when we're at my parent's house, they usually shop for our food, mostly adam's baon =D). don't you just love christmas! when my colleague applied for a job in dubai, her interview was done using a conference call. she was so amazed by how high-tech it seemed. she was called in an office in makati (by the local agent of the said company) and they interviewed her through teleconferencing. they had a big screen, webcam attached and they were talking like they were all in the same room. they explained that it is the latest way of interviewing applicants especially if applying for overseas work. they call it Telepresence.

last week, i attended my officemate's wedding (the one who got pregnant with a guy she dated for just two months) at the Manila Hotel Centennial Hall (haaaay...memories of the day I graduated). it was the first Chinese wedding i have attended. the reception started late. dinner wasn't served till after 8pm and they were only serving bread before that. me and my other officemates were soooo hungry (the ceremony started around 5pm). the picture taking took about an hour and half. gosh that was super long! they were fortunate to be the last couple to be wed that day so they were allowed to stay longer for the photo shoot. it was a chinese wedding but the food was so japanese: sushi, maki, seafoods... too bad i was only able to eat just the bread, soup and the not the main course. i had to go home early coz i live very far (alabang). anyways i got home past 11pm. super tired. i started blogging just a few months back, in july to be exact. fortunately, my sister has offered to shoulder my webhosting and domain name. obviously, if you opt to go for your own domain name, you will need your own web host. having these two is really an advantage specially if you're doing paid opps. advertisers favor more those with their own domain names because it makes advertising more personal.
so if you still haven't got your own, get one from http://www.webhostingchoice.com and start earning more from paid opps. ok, im all into paid blogging but i have also mentioned that having your own makes your site more personal and unique.

would you believe me if i told you that i can easily lose weight just by eating less every meal? for the record, i eat alot and i mean ALOT! i seldom eat very little. i can't live without rice, at all! everybody's been asking me where i keep all the food i eat. honestly i don't know. i find it hard to gain weight, maybe I'll gain a bit but not that significant. and every time i don't eat much, I'll end up losing a lot of weight. weird! people say that I'm so lucky having a body frame like this, probably a fast mechanism, but i always say that i would love to gain some weight. im not one of them obssessed with size 0 clothes! i was shocked to learn that my sister's house is still carpeted. i find it so outdated! *peace, sis!* not their fault, they bought the house as is from a really elderly lady so it looked like a blast in the past. they have, little by little, made some improvements in the house. they plan on stripping the carpets and replacing them with wood flooring. i told her area rugs would look really good with floor boards. she thinks so too! thanks denz for this award! i like the little dolphin. has it also got something to do with loving the sea (i think i mentioned that a few entries ago)? *lol* i love the sea, i love swimming. i only learned how to swim a few years ago and every opportunity i get, i head on to the beach! im digressing *lol*.
thanks for always dropping by my blog!Labels: award
Last night, one of our colleagues phoned most of us to ask if we could lend her some money. her daughter was rushed to the hospital because of high fever and vomiting. it's a few more days till payday but unfortunately, she hasn't got much cash left. we all chipped in with whatever amount we can spare. but she will still need a bit more because last time i've heard, the little girl will be hospitalized.
this is really scary. having no money for emergencies like these. how would people get through with this? some rely on family, others, friends and charitable institutions. others, they take on payday loans. they say it's safe and you can get fast approval. knowing the options is fairly calming.
i hope her little girl gets better soon so she could enjoy the christmas holidays. Labels: money money money

i have asked my sister to be a contributor/co-author in this blog. im very busy with work that sometimes i could go on for days without posting anything. im afraid i won't be able to fulfill the advertisers' requirements for an active blog if i don't ask her to. this is just last resort. i will try my hardest to fill this blog about my boring life as a mommy, wife and a slave at work. just don't be surprised if you see her blogging here =). we have agreed though that her posts will still be about me and my son. i hope she'll be gentle and generous and kind with her entries! our 3rd brother has been going to the gym religiously. when he went abroad, it has become his hobby (along with our uncle) for nothing better to do. he looks yucky to me! he's not yet the wrestler type but his got a bigger body frame than usual. i just don't really like muscle-y guys, i don't find them sexy at all! we told him that he should not let a day pass when he doesnt work out. otherwise, the muscles will turn to fats! he's taking bodybuilding supplements as well aside from living in a gym *lol*. Labels: money money money
i have always wanted to live by the seaside. i always look forward to going and spending breaks in our province in quezon. it's an island and we get to swim, breathe and live the sea! when my sister migrated to uk, she moved to a seaside city, southampton (remember titanic?). they don't have seaside views but they can go to the docks in less than 10 minutes (and enjoy all those amazing cruise ships!)
now hubby's cousin is migrating to the states and they are seriously considering buying a seaside home from Wilmington NC real estate. im so jealous! now, more than ever, i want to migrate as well.
we all believed that the sea breeze and the sound of the waves are both therapeutic. no matter how stressed you are with work, you get relaxed in an instance! Labels: money money money

sorry i haven't blogged, bloghopped for a few days. i have been busy (as always!) with work. anyways, we stayed at my parent's house last night but came home today as well. we attended a party in our village, at my mom's friend's house, and since it's just a few blocks away, decided to go with her and go home afterwards.
tommorow will be a busy day for my little family. we all have different parties to go to! i'll be attending a colleague's wedding, raymond will be attending his office's christmas party and my son will be attending a birthday party with his paternal lola. i wish we'll be going to just one party but we have all said yes already without realising that we'll be scattered that day.
the driver will be dropping off adam first, then me at manila hotel (he's going back to adam's party and wait). after the wedding, it would be my husband who'll pick me up. fortunately, we were able to sort out the transport!
after that, it's work week again! Labels: family
it's almost christmas and im sure most of us are running low on funds. it's been manic lately, lots of people in malls, doing their christmas shopping. honestly, if it ain't my job, i'll stay away from them. but somehow it's nice to see the people's excitement. eventhough money is tight, they can still afford to buy something special for their loved ones, godkids, friends - no matter how inexpensive they are. it's the thought that counts, anyway.
with all the money going to shopping gifts and food, i wonder how people stretches their budgets that much. i would guess some of them resorts to a Payday loan. it's the fastest way to loan money for that special something you just have to spend on but currently doesn't have the means to. and christmas is a valid excuse!
usaquickpayday.com gives the fastest payout, i heard. no application fees and minimal requirements needed.
now i have to count how much money i have left and see if i need to apply for one =).

hubby told me this story and i was laughing my guts out! when i was away, they went to the mall to buy something. and adam having diarrhea, obviously, he needed to go to the toilet. unfortunately, the cr was packed with people. he started to cry because he couldn't make pigil anymore his pupu. the janitor taking pity on him told him to just do it in the urinal and he'll clean it up for him.
adam: no. it's not a toilet bowl (namili pa!) janitor: eto o, tabo and sabon. pwede dyan adam: no! im not a dog!
natawa na lang sila. then a man came out of one of the cubicles and commented: man: kaya pala maingay ung bata, najejebs adam: ikaw kasi, tagal tagal mo lumabas!
*lol* pahiya tuloy si mama. they were all laughing hard. adam had his turn and having diarrhea, he pooped water. he came out of the cubicle saying: adam: d naman ako nag pupu. suka lang. *lol* Labels: adam
at the office we all make sure that we back up all our files. we do lots of graphic arts, designing and it's just too scary to even think that we might lose them. we work hard 8 hours a day (sometimes more) coming up with brilliant ideas, to just let them go to waste. we were even told to have online backup just to make sure that we have a plan B. the cost is very minimal and if you have less than 2gb of files to back up, you can do it for free! what more could you ask for? unlimited space available, it's quite easy to do and a guarantee that you'll never lose a file ever again!

when i got home from cebu last week, adam lost some weight (and i've only been gone 3 days!). apparently, he's had diarrhea but he was ok when i got home. before his dad could explain why adam had diarrhea, adam made sumbong na his dad. he said: si daddy kasi, mommy, lagi nya ko binibigyan ng chocolate na square e. *lol* lagot si daddy, buking! i scolded the maid last weekend. i came home and my son met me at the gates with really dirty hands. i asked him where he's been playing. he said just in our room. he said he was playing by the window, playing with the blinds. i went up to check and saw that the maid hasn't been cleaning it properly! good thing my son knows not to put his hands in his mouth if they're dirty. otherwise, he might have gotten sick with all the germs and bacteria. i don't have time to really inspect every inch of the house. as long as i don't see any eyesores about, im fine. so that's probably why the maids are slacking with their jobs. our room isn't locked so they can access it and clean whatever has to be cleaned. that in mind, i will have to make sure they clean our ensuite properly!
anyways, Venetian Blinds the in our room needs updating. if only i could order from selectblinds.com easily (hmmn.. i might ask my cousin to do it for me). i found some discounted deals with them and im eyeing one of the Venetian Blinds just in case my son plays with them again. i don't want him cutting his hand. i heard they supply the blinds in the show, extreme makeover - home edition. hopefully, after updating, the maids will make sure they keep everything tidy.
im not mean to them. i seldom scold them. i just want them to do their jobs. properly.

i was in SM san lazaro doing mall visits the other day so i told my mom to meet me there. afterwards, i dropped by my parent's house. when i got home and told adam that i've been to see my mom, he got mad at me. he was hitting me (he apologized after i told him what he did was wrong) and was really throwing tantrums around. he wanted to go daw. bkt nd ko daw sya sinama *lol*. sabi ko i was at work and he was in school. it wasn't planned. i told him we'll go this weekend naman e. malamang papabili lang naman ng toys un sa lolo at lola nya! im trying to look for job adverts for me (visual merchandiser) but instead, i found this advert for accountancy jobs abroad. i guess businesses are booming overseas that's why they need accountants (lots of them) to oversee the companies' finances. anyways, they cater for jobs in hongkong, singapore, new zealand, australia, etc. im sure some of my friends in highschool who took up accountancy will like this news. afterall, work here in the philippines is so hard to come by with.
The newest arrival in the financial services recruitment scene, www.accountancyjobsabroad.com, has achieved three important goals in its second month of operation. Firstly the company has achieved a number one ranking on Yahoo for its key search term ‘accountancy jobs abroad’ which is unprecedented in such a short space of time. Secondly the company has signed up its first five employers to the site including two ‘Big Four’ Accountancy firms in Bermuda. Two leading captive management firms again mainly present in Bermuda, but also with opportunities in Cayman, the US, Barbados, and Ireland. Thirdly and finally the company was a headline article in one of Bermuda’s leading newspaper’s business section. Namely the Bermuda Sun. The article entitled “Job Site Aims to Fill Accounting Skills Gap” outlined the company’s aim to provide flexible recruitment solutions to employers however as the company is totally web-based this will be achieved through competitive commission rates.

i've only got a casio watch to use everyday. i would like a really expensive one like my sister's chanel matelassee but if you live here in the philippines (it's a fact!), it's very scary to wear one. i've had a very bad experience when i was in high school, having studied in san sebastian (recto!) so wearing expensive watches or jewelries is out of the question! i'd love to own a Patek Philippe one. i saw one the other day, in one of the shops in festival mall and it took me awhile to convince myself that it's not that safe to buy. perhaps when (and if) we move abroad? my brother in saudi arabia is keen on starting a real estate business. being an engineer, he wants to develop lands and to sell them off for a really good but affordable price. that's why he's working hard in the middle east so he could save enough to start his own. my dad has his own construction company and naturally, he is expected to continue what my dad has started. he hasn't decided yet - whether he'll jsut carry on my dad's works or build up his own. for now, he's jsut dead set on saving. i have been a coffee drinker eversince i started work. i rely on it to keep me on my toes. i wake up early every morning and i go to bed really late. work eats up all my time and i do lots of mall rounds each day that i need to be always alert. my mom said that drinking coffee (moderately) is healthy. coffee is my blood! because of that, i think my hubby will give me my very own Saeco espresso maker for christmas. as if i can take it to the office with me everyday! hmnn.. that's a thought. Labels: money money money
i was in cebu for 3 days, 2 nights with my colleagues as we opened another branch of arrow and espada in SM City Cebu. during our stay, one of my officemates couldn't sleep. or was too paranoid to sleep without turning the lights nor the tv off. she felt like she's not alone in the room. during lunch, one time, she talked to our bosses about this. the next thing we knew, we were checking out of the hotel (parklane hotel) and moving into marco polo. most of us did not experiece anything out of the ordinary, but i wouldn't want it happening to me! i would miss parklane though. food there was great (buffet style) specially the corned beef. well, i'll surely miss it. not the mumu though =D Labels: hotels
i watched this episode of bones where one of the characters underwent hypnosis to help her recall a very important detail of her past. i used to not believe such a thing until my sister, who graduated with a degree in psychology, told me that it is being used in some cases and are proven effective. just like what i saw on tv.
anyways, i haven't forgotten anything, hopefully not, to try it for myself. but perhaps i could try it with other people? say, my husband? i could probably convince him easily to abide by my wishes. later today, i'll try some hypnosis downloads. if you go to instant-hypnosis.com you'll be entitled to a free 5-part mini-course. they offer different hypnosis help - from skills, to addiction, to relationships. im going to tell my sister. she's been suffering from migraine and back pain. this might help her weed off painkillers.
im sure you'll all be converted. just as i am. Labels: money money money

it's been a while. i was away in cebu for a few days for work and there were lots of news for me when i got back. the biggest of which is our manager's impending resignation. it came as a surprise since she was all, "stay for the experience...loyalty is the best policy"... she's the last person we thought would resign. we shouldn't have been shocked since rumor has been circulating eversince someone has caught her researching on Business Loans.
i wonder where she got her ideas from. has she been reading my blog? i once blogger about ezunsecured.com, about how fast they approve applications. nonetheless, i have to work hard so i can start my own business too! Labels: money money money
