Am I Ready?

i've never thought of applying for any credit cards. i don't own one and im not sure im ready to have that faux financial freedom. my sister used to tell me never to get one because of the tendency to be dependent on it. it doesn't mean you have the plastic, you can afford to buy many things. you'd still pay for it in the end. so if you don't have any means to pay for it now, you never would. i think she's talking about her own experience. she used to own 3 cards and was able to max them all out! imagine that?!

that was when she was still here in the philippines. her tune changed when she went to england. now she's telling me of all the advantages of having a credit card. hers are cash back credit ones where she gets some money back off the purchases she makes with the card. since she pays for them on time, in full, she doesn't get to pay any interest. she earns instead! another type she told me are the
0% purchase credit cards which charges no interest at all on any purchases for a specific period of time. there are also those that offer balance transfers which people take so they don't have to pay more interest, if not none at all! hmmn, im very interested in applying for a cash back card. that sounds fair enough.

im learning more and more from her. although she says that one should take caution still. if you don't control your spending habits, these cards would be your worst nightmare. i don't want that. do you?
