Booking
i was talking to my mom yesterday. she's in the US with my sister and brother in law. they are staying with my aunt in new jersey. she was telling me that they have been touring new york and all. they'll be staying there for another week and she was saying she's not looking forward to going home just yet.
they will go to washington this weekend. they'll be staying there over night and she said they haven't booked their accomodations yet. since my sister does not have time to search online for the best deals as they are so tired already when they go home at night, i volunteered to do the searching for them.
im aware that last minute Hotel Reservations cost an arm and a leg so i wasn't really optimistic that they would get really good deals. but i was surprised when i saw that the prices at hotelreservations.com is quite competitive and though last minute, it still is cheap compared to other sites. what's good about their site is that you could choose the hotel either by price (which isn't really a question for them *lol*), the nearest landmark (which i think is good considering my family is quite lazy to walk! im sure they would prefer to be within walking distance to all the sites in dc), quality and value.
i suggested a couple of hotels and they are looking at it now. not only would they get competitve rates but their prices are discounted as well! im sure they'll be booking their trip with hotelreservations.com unless they find something cheaper somewhere, which i doubt! they'll be staying in washington for 2 days and would only need to book a hotel for one night. but hey, every dollar counts! the more they save, the more gifts they could buy for us, who are left back home!
